Ishan Kishan got Sunrisers Hyderabad off to a flying start against Chennai Super Kings in match number 63 of the IPL 2026 season. Batting at number three and arriving at the crease in just the third over of the run chase, Kishan began cautiously before breaking the shackles with a massive six off CSK’s most successful bowler this season, Anshul Kamboj. That towering hit not only fetched six runs for his side but also shattered a section of the Chepauk Stadium’s giant screen.

The blistering left-hander then drove the ‘Orange Army’ past the 100-run mark alongside fellow hard-hitter Heinrich Klaasen.

Kishan arrived in the third over of the SRH innings after the early dismissal of opener Travis Head. The left-handed batsman started cautiously, reaching 14* at a run-a-ball with three crisp boundaries. Then, taking on CSK’s in-form pacer Anshul Kamboj in the final over of the powerplay, the SRH wicketkeeper dispatched the speedster with a brutal pick-up shot miles over deep backward square leg. While Kishan collected six runs with that clean hit, he also accidentally damaged a portion of Chepauk’s big screen. A few overs later, Kishan sent Kamboj over the midwicket region for his second maximum of the innings.
